Movie Review by Emmett
December 3rd, 2008

George Eastman devours some tourists...Yee-Haa!!!

Favorite Movie Quote: "He smells of.....of blood!!"

Another one of the video nasties that has a notorious reputation that it actually doesn't deserve. Dont get me wrong tho...this movie does have a couple of scenes which are quite sick but its the baddddd special effects which let it down.

Basically the premise is as follows: Group of tourists find themselves on a island where every-one seems to have disappeared. Soon they find out why?? What follows is endless (and i mean endless) scenes of the group looking around the island/ caves/ dark houses etc. until "The Beast" finally shows his not so scary face.

Plenty of bloodshed ensues. The acts of violence are quite vicious (im talking about the uncut version here) but the special effects are quite dated. People only watch this movie to get to its most infamous scene (poor Maggie eh??). The rest of the violence is standard horror stuff (torn open throats, cleaver to the face, stabbings etc.) The last shot of the film did make my stomach churn a bit though.

If your a video nasty collecter well then you need this on your shelves. Thats all i can really recommend this film for.

I haven't seen this one yet but I do like Beyond the Darkness which was directed by the same dude. I wouldn't mind seeing this one either.
